Filming them

Last week Terry came up with the great idea of having students film each other during Badminton. He suggested that students have to showcase a underhand serve, a lob and then a smash and then put that in their SLC folder for conferences. I thought what a great idea for them to show what they are learning. But then....

This got me to thinking...not only can we do that but then students can also watch themselves and see the areas that they need to improve on. I have the APP coaches eye and while I have not yet figured out how to use it for Badminton this is something that would help the students improve on a particular skill. They would be thinking how they can get better and using technology to do so. In conclusion I think using technology to film students in action and then having them watch and analyze is great!

  1. I love the idea for any sport, and also for giving speeches, acting, anything that has a physical component. I even remember being filmed in teacher ed and able to reflect on my body language, moving around in class, etc.
